I don’t know a whole lot about coffee other than it’s delicious, that is more a job for my brothers. I do love seeing spaces coming together. The choices made to create a space to be lived in and that can be identified with the subject.

A couple of months ago my eldest brother bought a new flat. Visiting and seeing it come together each time was cool, the prints he chose to go on the wall and the table he found in a small shop in brighton. It has just been…cool.

I like this video. ( There Paul, i blogged )

Sign Painting by Alaric Garnier (by Sunset Residence)

To take some kind of sign painting class or to spend a couple of months playing with sign painting has become a recent dream of mine. So beautiful.

Also go check out Lazy Tigers blog to see a massive amount of posts on sign painting.

The video above is a small description of the awesome life illustrator Andrew Groves lives. Camping out in the woods whittling away creating amazing products with a beautiful colours part of his side project Miscellaneous Adventures. He has inspired me vastly to create more with natural products and get off the computer - get outside a little more. Also that Barn is wicks, i could imagine myself living comfortably in something like that.

Trying as hard as i can to resist reblogging everything off of The Fox is Black.

For our second project this year we had to write an essay on a question we chose, relate that question to three artists and then create a visual response for each one of those artists. My question was Why have contemporary artists and designers used screenprinting in their work? I focused on Mark WeaverRyan Brinkerhoff and DKNG Studios. Having recently read The Manual, i wanted to create a small hardback book to display my essay. I had a lot of fun making this book. I have really come to enjoy making things with my hands a lot more. The cover has screenprinted onto greyboard. The binding method i used in the end was a Japanese stab bind. These are some photos of a few pages of my book.

Youth Lagoon recently played some songs for Sirius XMU; one of those was a cover of John Denver’s Goodbye Again. Sounds like the song was made to be covered by Youth Lagoon. Beautiful. I insist you listen to The Year of Hibernation if you haven’t heard it yet.

Since September i have been playing Youth Lagoon fairly non-stop. It still hasn’t ceased to be my favourite album of 2011. If you have not heard Trevor Powers’ album The Year of Hibernation i strongly recommend you do!

I have not done a film review before so this will probs be a little rubbs…

A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.

This film to me, has to be one of the best i have seen for a while. There is something quite refreshing about this film that compares to other driving films such as Fast and Furious. For a driving film it only contains two solid car chases both beautifully shot and incredibly tense. To me though the best part of the film is the dialogue (or lack there of) between the Driver (Ryan Gosling) and Irene (Carey Mulligan). It is so dispersed - long pauses between each of them, with a calmness the uneases you to create this wonderful tension of “something bad is clearly about to happen.”

What really made the film was the soundtrack. The 80’s vibe with a futurist take, similar to the work of M83 - is just….cool. I have been listening to it on repeat for the past couple of days.

If you like thriller films, go and check out this film.

P.S My favourite review of this film is here.

I have mentioned my eldest brother before on this blog. Too right because he is one of the coolest guys i know. Not only is he a great designer and overall jolly good person, he is also an amazing chef. I an attempt to keep track of what he cooks and to help and share other fellow food lovers he has built a tumblog that you can follow in order to discover all the new deliciousness he is creating. He has also given you ingredients and recipes so you can join in on the fun. Go check it out and follow if you love food and nicely designed websites.

Using nothing but stamps, an ink jet printer, their hands and a laser cutter Christine and Ian have made the most beautiful wedding stationary and all for under $200. There is no more to be said really other than if i ever get married, i am looking forward to making some stationary and if it looks half as good as theirs i will be very satisfied.

Go check out their full post to see how they made it and see other fun things about their wedding.

I have really been enjoying the work of Justin Mezzell. Love these last two shot that he posted on his dribbble page. Check his site, the dude has skill.

Lukas Haider has been one of my favourite photographers for a while now, he is also a wicks designer. And now he has brought out a lovely new portfolio with all kinds of different pieces he has worked on. Take a few minutes to get inspired by his lovely analogue photography and his use of geometric typefaces.

John Cho Moore grew tired of the limitations of the industrial design process and is now trying to capture the essence of design with his beautifully handmade bamboo and canvas bags.

Follow John through his unique manufacturing process that challenges convention thinking about product design and the creative process.

In september when i started my second year of A-levels, we were given a project in graphics to create something to do with Passions and Obsessions. We were allowed to do our own passions and obsessions. So i went in the direction of illustrating all things vintage. The final result was this. I am really happy with how this turned out and had a lot of fun with playing around with all the cameras.
